Comedy powerhouses Adam Riches and John Kearns are set to bring their critically acclaimed spoof show Ball & Boe – For One Night Only to Soho Theatre Walthamstow on Saturday 27 September 2025.

Following a sold-out festive run at Soho Theatre’s central London venue and a buzzy stint at the Pleasance Grand during this year’s Edinburgh Fringe, the duo are taking their much-praised parody to Walthamstow for their debut at the new venue.

Directed by Tom Parry, the show playfully riffs on the world of musical theatre’s most famous bromance, Michael Ball and Alfie Boe. Reviewers have called it “the single funniest hour I’ve spent in a theatre all year” (The Telegraph) and “a true must-see one-off from two comedy greats” (Beyond the Joke).

Adam Riches, winner of the Edinburgh Comedy Award and known for his larger-than-life Sean Bean parody on 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown, teams up with John Kearns, the only comedian to scoop both Best Newcomer and Best Show at the Edinburgh Comedy Awards. Between them, the pair boast accolades across stage and screen, including Taskmaster, Guessable and Top Coppers.

Their satirical take doesn’t just send up Ball and Boe’s partnership but also celebrates it. As the real-life duo themselves once turned up to join the fun, this spoof has blurred the line between comedy and homage in unexpected ways.

With rave reviews from The Times, The Guardian and Chortle, audiences can expect an evening of glitz, gags and glorious nonsense.

Adam Riches and John Kearns ARE: Ball & Boe – For One Night Only plays at Soho Theatre Walthamstow on Saturday 27 September 2025.
