The Barn Theatre in Cirencester has announced the full cast for the world premiere of Haywire – A Not-So-Everyday Story Of How The Archers Was Born, written by Tim Stimpson and directed by Joseph O’Malley. The production will run from 1 September to 11 October.
The cast includes Liam Horrigan as Sam, Geebs Marie Williams as Jessica, Rosanna Miles as Fiona, Olivia Bernstone as Amber, Anthony Glennon as Martin, Kieran Brown as Adrian and James Mack as Jonty.
The creative team features Alfie Heywood (set and costume), Adam Foley (lighting), Amanda Priestley (sound and composition), and casting by Emily Jones and Anthony Houghton.

Haywire celebrates the origins of The Archers, using the magic of radio drama to tell the unlikely story of a small team of creatives recording above a Birmingham car showroom in 1950 – and launching what would become the world's longest running continuing drama. The play is officially licensed by the BBC and premieres ahead of The Archers' 75th anniversary on 1 January 2026.
Tim Stimpson, long-time writer for The Archers, said: "It’s been a long-standing ambition of mine to tell the extraordinary story of how The Archers began. The Barn feels like the perfect place for it – and how could a play about The Archers not be performed in a theatre called the Barn?"
